Next Monday, April 28 at 7 pm, the Instituto Francés de Madrid will open its 14th Lesbian Film Festival with a screening of Las reinas del drama, a film by Alexis Langlois. Registrations at this link.
This queer and melodramatic musical comedy tells the love story between a punk singer, Billy Kohler, and Mimi Madamour, a pop icon. This passionate and sometimes too intense story, which borders on the tragic, presents two completely opposite characters, as if the world prevents them from loving each other. In an ultra-normative world where patriarchy reigns, it was important for Alexis Langlois to show that queer people can’t love each other and that it’s hard to love another person when you don’t love yourself properly.
The screening, which will be attended by the director Alexis Langlois, will be followed at 21 h by a QUEER karaoke under the sign of the party, madness and, why not? , hidden talents. Madonna, Bad Gyal, Lady Gaga!…
