«The meanings of Trump», by Charles Powell, director of the Elcano Royal Institute
The Club Diplomático de Madrid and The Diplomat in Spain held a new session yesterday at their headquarters in Calle Pintor Rosales, 20, 2nd floor, which featured Charles Powell, director of the Elcano Royal Institute, in a talk entitled The meanings of Trump.
A large group of ambassadors accredited to Spain met at the event, in which Powell reflected on the current affairs surrounding the current policy of the United States government and, in particular, its president, Donald Trump.
Tariffs and global geopolitics at present were the subjects that featured the words of the director of the Elcano Royal Institute, as well as the likely future of the US government.
At the end of the speaker’s address, the ambassadors present at the session posed interesting and profound questions which were answered, as expected, by solid and experienced arguments from Charles Powell.
This new meeting once again reflects the commitment of the Diplomatic Club of Madrid to promote dialogue and understanding on issues of burning interest to ambassadors accredited in Spain, along with the perspectives that converge in diplomacy. Undoubtedly, this is a further step towards strengthening international relations and the joint search for solutions to major global challenges.
