The play El efecto (The Effect), by Lucy Prebble, under the direction of Juan Carlos Fisher, arrives at the Sala Verde de los Teatros del Canal in Madrid (calle Cea Bermúdez, 1).
The great actors Alicia Borrachero, Elena Rivera, Itzan Escamilla and Fran Perea, in order of appearance play some characters who wonder are you in love or are you just experiencing a strong discharge of dopamine? Is there any difference? Does your real “me” differ in anything from the neurochemistry of your brain?
Connie and Tristan question these doubts when they discover that they are in love. The problem is that they don’t know if the connection they feel is real or if it’s the result of a new antidepressant. They are two volunteers in a clinical-pharmacological trial and their romance creates alarming dilemmas for their supervising doctors.
The effect will be performed in the Green Room of the Teatros del Canal until 20 April 2025. From Tuesday to Saturday at 19:30 and on Sundays at 18 hours. Tickets for sale at this link.
