The Embassy of Haiti held last Saturday at the Museum of History in Madrid the children’s puzzle contest, entitled Rebuilding Haiti with Haiti Puzzle.
Carl Eric Barthelus, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Haitian Embassy was in charge of presenting the endearing act. “Today we have gathered children between 6 and 12 years old to play a game as fun as symbolic: the puzzle, said Carl Eric. This game, which requires patience, reflection and perseverance, perfectly embodies the spirit we need to rebuild Haiti. Each piece our young participants are assembling today represents a step toward a better future, a renewed hope for our country.”
“So I encourage you to make the most of this experience, continued Carl Eric, to learn, share and have fun. May each piece of the puzzle you set today be a promise for the future, a commitment to building a more united and supportive world. And above all, let us continue to build together, piece by piece, a better future for Haiti.
The participating children were divided into two age groups and for an hour demonstrated their “skills” with the puzzles they had to piece together. These young people, who were taken by their parents to compete, did their work without the help of their parents, who while their children competed, visited the exhibition Viva la bohemia! , which is currently on display at the Museo de Historia de Madrid.
The event ended with the tasting of Haitian products that small and large enjoyed until they finished.
