From yesterday and until next May 18, Casa Árabe (calle Alcalá, 62. Planta -1) presents in its Sala de Columnas the exhibition Palestinian comic: Own voices, collective cry. Free admission until the room is full.
Under the Culture for Peace programme. Spain-Palestine, this exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Spain and the Embassy of Palestine, Casa Árabe participates with this exhibition, and is curated by the Palestinian illustrator Mohamed Sabaaneh and Pedro Rojo, president of the Fundación Al Fanar.
The exhibition brings together works by different Palestinian artists whose graphic work rejects the dominant discourse on Palestine, altering colonial representations and providing a different perspective. An exhibition that is more than an artistic display, it represents an affirmation of existence, a challenge to hegemony and a testimony to the enduring power of Palestinian narrative.
Includes the sample works of Leila Abdelrazaq; IasminOmar Ata; Sara Shehadeh; Hassan Manasrah; Hamza AbuAyyash; Khaled Jarrada; Shahd Alshamali; Dania Omari; Samir Harb and Mohammed Sabaaneh.
This exhibition is a project conceived by the Salón de Cómic de Valencia and the Fundación Al Fanar in collaboration with the Fundación Finestres. It is also supported by the SM-UV Chair of Comic Studies, IEMed, Casa Mediterráneo and Casa Árabe. After his visit to Madrid, he will continue travelling to other cities whose agenda is still being worked out and open to proposals.
