The Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid presents until next 24 May the exhibition We are all unique pieces. Dialogue between Gaetano Pesce and Andrea Corsi.
There are project masters who identify with a material of choice. For Gaetano Pesce it is exactly like this: his appreciation of soft and soft raw materials, which require time to take consistency, is not only the choice of a preferred material, but of a thought that represents it in its full essence. Pesce gives preference, from his exordia, to the mutability of resins because they are those that best interpret a fundamental concept in his author’s research, that of imperfection, of the defect that becomes uniqueness, of the project in series of unique pieces, that it is, after all, that of human beings themselves.
Produced and realized by the Institute, the exhibition narrates the professional and artistic dialogue of Gaetano Pesce and Andrea Corsi. In order to prove the veracity of the work, in the rooms of the Institute has been reconstructed the dimension of the Fish Design laboratory, where tests and models, prototypes and finished parts are mixed, telling a story of thirty years that still has much to offer to the public of art and design enthusiasts.
Entering this laboratory of doing and thinking means also looking at a Made in Italy that is not only the industrial realities, but also and above all the union between artisanal care, High quality open and replicable artistic research and serial execution. A modality that historically has always characterized Italian production, born of the constant dialogue between technical skills, visions of projects and the determination to invent the means to realize what did not exist before.
