UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili begins a four-day visit to China today, during which he will meet with tourism entrepreneurs and leaders of various Chinese provinces, in addition to attending the Boao Forum for Asia, which will open its plenary next Thursday.
Pololikashivili will begin his visit to the Asian country by meeting in Shanghai with senior officials of the municipal government and with leaders of the tour operator Trip.com. The following day he plans to travel to Haikou, where he will visit the offices of Windows to Global Trade, which aims to attract foreign investors to this tropical Chinese island.
After participating in the Boao Forum for Asia, he will leave for Sanya, where he will meet with the leaders of the municipal government of this city and will end his trip to China on Friday in Beijing, where he will meet with local authorities and business leaders.
Pololikashvili arrived in Shanghai last night, after attending in Namibia the inauguration of the country’s new president, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, where he also presented the Investment Guide ‘Tourism Doing Business’ that UN Tourism has just published on Namibia.
