Casa Árabe reflects on Amazigh culture and its meaning
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Next Thursday at 7 pm, Casa Árabe de Madrid, in collaboration with the TBA21 Foundation, the Euro-Arab Foundation of High Studies and Iwa Fest de Melilla, organize a round table on Amazigh identity and its meaning today. Free admission until capacity is full. The event will be held in Spanish.

Rooted in centuries of history, artistic expression and musical traditions, the Amazigh culture has constantly evolved, adapting to new influences while retaining its distinctive character. This meeting will address key aspects of the Amazigh artistic traditions, from visual storytelling to musical heritage. The debate will try to deepen into how these elements have developed over time, how they interact with contemporary creative movements and what they reveal about the intersections between identity, memory and resistance.

The event represents an opportunity to connect with the deeply rooted nature of Amazigh cultural forms, examining their place within broader historical narratives and modern art landscapes.

Hassan Laaguir, coordinator of the International Chair of Amazigh Culture of the Euro-Arab Foundation for High Studies; Karima Ziali, writer and researcher, and Borja Ramón, director of the Iwa Fest in Melilla, will share their reflections on the subject. Moderated by Karim Hauser, coordinator of cultural programs at Casa Árabe.
