This event will take place next Thursday, March 20 at 12 o’clock in the auditorium of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando de Madrid (calle de Alcalá 13). The concert will be broadcast live through the YouTube channel of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
This year’s edition of the Korea Classical Music Cycle has the special title ¡Bis! , since all the events of this edition will be starring artists who were previously invited by the Korean Cultural Center to perform in Spain. The violist Hayang Park performed in Madrid and Avilés with her fellow Korean musicians from the Reina Sofía Music College in 2018 and 2019, respectively. For her part, the pianist Chloe Jiyeong Mun offered two concerts in Spain: one with the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid in 2019 and another with the violinist Jehye Lee in 2024.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Korean Cultural Center, IEA and UCM, there will be piano and viola masterclasses for students of the Faculty of Fine Arts of UCM. These classes will take place on 21 March in the IEA auditorium (Calle de Torrelara 8) and will be open to pre-registered listeners, provided they are students of UCM Musicology, members of the UCM orchestra or IEA members until completion of the capacity.
The Korea Classical Music Cycle is a program established in 2018 by the Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain with the aim of making Korean performers known in Europe through concerts in Spain. This cycle is part of the Korea Season, a project of KOFICE and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea that annually presents various cultures and arts of Korea in strategic countries. This project will take place in Spain throughout 2025, offering a varied programming that will include music, cinema, literature, visual art, dance and more. The full schedule of the Korea Season will be announced soon.
