Defense Minister Margarita Robles will receive her Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov, in Madrid this Friday, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defense.
The visit, according to the Ministry, is part of the intensive contacts the heads of both departments have been maintaining since the Russian invasion of Ukraine to discuss various issues related to Spain’s support for the Ukrainian people.
On this occasion, the ministers will hold a bilateral meeting, hold talks with their respective teams, and sign an agreement to continue the training and instruction that Spain has been providing to the personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Minister Umerov is then scheduled to meet with representatives of the main Spanish defense and technology industries, which provide equipment and materiel to Ukraine as part of the bilateral military assistance package committed by Spain.
