<h6><strong>The Diplomat</strong></h6> <h4><strong>The Carolina Foundation has met with representatives of 17 Latin American embassies in Spain to discuss future collaborations in the areas of higher education and cultural and scientific cooperation.</strong></h4> The meeting took place last Tuesday at the headquarters of the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies (CEPC). This is the second meeting between the parties, after the one held last June. The meeting was attended by the director of the Carolina Foundation, Érika Rodríguez Pinzón, the general secretary, Purificación Causapié, and the heads of the different departments of the institution. On behalf of the embassies, representatives of the areas of education and culture of their headquarters in Madrid attended. During the session, the Carolina Foundation team presented the work developed in each area and highlighted the points of connection and possible spaces for collaboration that can contribute to strengthening the work that both parties develop in the areas of higher education, and cultural and scientific cooperation. “This joint work framework represents a great opportunity at a regional level to foster a rich network of personal and institutional relationships that go beyond the training period in Spain,” the Foundation highlighted in a press release. “This year, in addition, the Foundation celebrates 25 years of history, which the institution plans to commemorate with various activities throughout the year, something that was also shared during the meeting,” it added. For their part, the embassies expressed their interest in promoting some initiatives. The Carolina Foundation, according to the press release, has among its aims to support the training of students, professionals and researchers from all over Latin America, the exchange of experiences and the promotion of research on topics of interest for the development of the Latin American region in very diverse areas and in Spanish. These objectives are addressed with scholarship programs, visitor programs developed by the Cooperation and Leadership area, or research promoted by the Studies and Analysis area of the Foundation.
