The Council of Ministers on Tuesday will appoint the diplomat Emilio Pin Godos to the post of Spanish ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
According to diplomatic sources informed The Diplomat, the Government has already received the go-ahead for Pin Godos. He will replace Iñigo de Palacio, who has recently been appointed Spanish ambassador to Japan.
Emilio Pin Godos, born in Castellón in 1974, has a degree in Law from the University of Navarra, a diploma in Advanced Studies, International Law and International Legal Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of London.
He joined the Diplomatic Service in 2000 and, since then, has been posted to the Spanish Embassies in Tanzania, Namibia and Rome and to the Permanent Representation of Spain to the United Nations in Geneva.
In the central services of the Ministry in Madrid, he has been deputy director of the Consular Emergency Unit, Human Rights advisor, legal advisor at the International Legal Advisory Office and, since August 2021, deputy head of the International Legal Advisory Office. In addition, between September 2021 and February 2024, he was a professor in the Master of International and European Studies at the University of Valencia.
