<h6><strong>Eduardo González</strong></h6> <h4><strong>Development cooperation officials from the 27 EU Member States will discuss this week in Warsaw, among other issues, the Union's priorities in terms of development financing ahead of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, which will be held this year in Seville.</strong></h4> This is set out in the programme published by the Polish Presidency of the EU Council of the first informal meeting of the ministers responsible for Development Cooperation in the new institutional cycle, which will take place in Warsaw between 10 and 11 February. The Foreign Affairs Council in Development Format (FAC DEV) will be attended by the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, and the Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Síkela. Spain will be represented by Eva Granados, State Secretary for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main objective of the meeting is to address issues related to the EU's current humanitarian and development policies, as well as strategic challenges for the future. Particular attention will be paid to building the resilience of public institutions and societies in developing countries. Participants will also discuss ways to help Mauritania, Ukraine and Syria overcome their humanitarian and development crises. The meeting will also address the revitalization of the FAC DEV format to make it more effective in decision-making and shaping EU development cooperation strategies. In addition, the meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the implementation of the Global Gateway strategy, including ways to enhance private sector engagement, and ministers will engage in a debate on EU development financing priorities ahead of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4). Seville will host the IV International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) from 30 June to 3 July 2025, with the main objective of mobilising funds for the 2030 Agenda. The first three conferences were held in Monterrey in 2002, in Doha in 2008 and in Addis Ababa in 2015.
