The Governing Council of Casa Árabe has agreed this Wednesday to appoint diplomat Miguel Moro as director of the institution, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.

Miguel Moro has been stationed in Amman (Jordan) and has held the positions of second in command at the Spanish Embassy in Baghdad and Tel Aviv. His last mission abroad was that of ambassador in Kuwait, between 2020 and 2024. Until now he held the position of ambassador on Special Mission for the Countries of the Persian Gulf.

Casa Árabe is an entity of Spanish public diplomacy that operates as a strategic center in Spain’s relations with the Arab world. Its consortium is made up of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the Junta de Andalucía, the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council and the Córdoba City Council. Casa Árabe has two headquarters, in Madrid and Córdoba.

Since its founding in July 2006, Casa Árabe has been an active platform and tool of Spanish public diplomacy, integrating its actions into the Network of Casas together with Casa de América, Casa Asia, Casa África, Casa del Mediterráneo and Centro Sefarad-Israel.
