Under the direction of the renowned illusionist Jorge Blass, the XV International Magic Festival in Madrid returns to the Teatro Circo Price, a space managed by the Culture, Tourism and Sport Area, consolidating itself as one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year. From tomorrow until the next 9 March, this event will transform Madrid into the world capital of magic, bringing together some of the best national and international magicians in a show that attracts more than 30,000 spectators each year.
The festival kicks off with the show Magia de Cerca, from 6 to 9 February, in the cozy Parish Hall. In this intimate space, three world-renowned illusionists will captivate the public: Isaac Jurado, who combines humor and ingenuity with surprising magical effects; the Danish John Steiner, who uses everyday objects such as phones and credit cards; and Jose Que Soy Yo, who challenges logic with amazing tricks that fascinate both viewers and his own colleagues.
The heart of the festival is the International Stage Gala, which will feature 28 performances at the Teatro Circo Price. This unique show brings together the best exponents of magical art, from the aerial acrobatics with changes of costumes of Diego and Elena, to the great illusions of the Canadian Darcy Oake. Also notable are the performances of comic magic master Voronin (Ukraine), the innovative time manipulation of Hun Lee (South Korea) and bar magic by Frenchman Adrian Kill. Jorge Blass, recently awarded the Stage Magician of the Year by the Hollywood Academy of Magical Arts, will present new numbers specially designed for the festival.
In addition, on 18 and 19 February, at 12 o’clock, the Teatro Circo Price will open its doors to create the most solidary magic. The Fundación Abracadabra’s magicians and mages will perform two shows aimed at disadvantaged associations and groups. With a program that combines tradition and innovation, the International Magic Festival of Madrid promises five weeks full of wonder and creativity that will make audiences of all ages dream.
