The play Señora Einstein, which presents Teatro Defondo, will be at the Teatro Bellas Artes de Madrid in a single performance this afternoon at 8 p.m., as a preamble to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which is celebrated on 11 February.

The show is touring all over Spain and has received 9 awards at state level.

Albert Einstein shared his best years of creativity with his first wife, the Serbian mathematician Mileva Maric. To it is attributed much of the merit of the Theory of Relativity. However, she is a character hardly known by the general public: exceptional mathematician, mother deprived of one of her children and selfless in the care of another, woman abandoned by Einstein… His story is full of love, genius, strength and work. Teatro Defondo proposes a show full of emotion and adventures to know the story of Mileva Maric and that her drama helps the current society to support and make visible women who want to achieve both professional and personal. In 2025, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mileva Maric is celebrated.

Teatro Defondo’s proposal is full of scenic play, poetry and criticism towards a world that has systematically ignored women scientists. The stage direction is by Vanessa Martínez. The cast is composed of Esperanza García-Maroto (who plays Mileva Maric), Gustavo Galindo (who plays Albert Einstein), Guillermo Berasategui, David Díaz, Pedro Santos and Rocío Vidal. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
