The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, received this Friday the members of the Board and spokespersons of the political groups of the Commissions for International Cooperation for Development of the Congress and the Senate to address the International Conference on Financing for Development of the United Nations, according to the Ministry in a press release.
During the meeting, held at the Santa Cruz Palace, Albares assured that the objective of the Conference, which will be held in Seville between June 30 and July 3 of this year, will be the approval of a new paradigm of development financing that contributes to making possible the effective fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
Albares explained that this conference represents “a great opportunity” for the international community to promote the mobilization of all policies and resources for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the acceleration of the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda at a global level.
The minister stressed that for Spain this will be an opportunity to “consolidate its multilateral profile”, establishing itself as “a main partner of the United Nations” and increasing “its weight in a priority global agenda”.
