Next Tuesday, 4 February at 8 pm and as part of the cycle In Scena A Palazzo, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid presents Aritmetrie, a concert that wants to tell and share the beauty of author music, from the production of compositions by contemporary Italian authors, to music production for cinema and the universe of music created for image.
Aritmetrie is an innovative project that celebrates the meeting of different musical traditions, harmoniously merging elements of ethnic, folk and classical music. At the heart of this sound experience are popular instruments such as mandolin, accordion and guitar, which act as vehicles to narrate the journey of the mandolin itself. This instrument, symbol of multiple cultures, especially the Italian one, has undergone transformations over time, intertwining stories of migrations and cultural crossings.
The project, conceived by Daniele La Torre, is based on the creation of a collaborative repertoire with different artists and aims to explore the expressive possibilities of these instruments, offering the audience a concert that not only entertains with varied and fantastic sounds, but also informs and involves. Each piece performed is a story that reveals the musicians’ stories and traditions that have inspired them, creating a direct link with listeners.
The concert’s performers are Daniele La Torre (mandolin, bouzuki and guitar), José Miguel de la Fuente (guitar) and Cuco Pérez (accordion), with works by: D. La Torre, R. Calace, F. Russo, P. Odierna, A. Paliotti, N. Rota, R. Di Marino and F. Piersanti.
Free admission with prior reservation, until the capacity is full. To attend, you must book by writing an email to confirmaciones.iicmadrid@gmail.com, and indicating the name and surname of all the people for whom the reservation is made, a contact phone number and in the subject “Concert 04/02”.
