A century later, the Spaniards settled in the north of the island, leaving a mark that lasts until today, as the forts of San Salvador and Santo Domingo, as well as Cape Sandiajiao, transliteration to the Mandarin of “Cape Santiago”. In addition, recent archaeological excavations have demonstrated the depth of Spanish evangelizing work in Taiwan.
One of the main attractions of the island is its impressive nature, being able to boast nine national parks that offer tourists unmatched views. Taiwan is also internationally known for its peculiar topography, highlighting its mountainous terrain, with more than 200 peaks over 3,000 meters high, making Taiwan an ideal destination for mountaineering lovers.
