The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), a government institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, officially opens its headquarters in Spain.

The official opening of KOCCA’s headquarters in Spain will be held this morning, at 11 am, at the Centro Cultural Coreano in Madrid (Paseo de la Castellana, 15). The event will feature prominent guests, including Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Deputy Minister Mi-ran Jang and KOCCA Acting Director Hyun Suk Yoo. Emilio de Miguel, director of Casa Asia Madrid, will also take the floor to show his support for the project. Pablo Conde, general manager of ICEX Spain Export and Investment, will then make a presentation on the Strategic Transition Plan for the Spanish Content Industry, focusing on the framework of collaboration between both countries in the creative industry.

KOCCA is a public reference entity dedicated to the development, promotion and integral support of Korea’s creative sectors. Its work covers various areas of the creative industry, such as broadcasting, video games, music, fashion, animation, digital characters, comics, intellectual property and technology convergence content. In addition, KOCCA plays a key role in promoting innovation by organising research activities, offering training and supporting international funding and expansion. With a total of 25 locations worldwide, KOCCA has established itself as a key driver in the global promotion of Korean cultural content.

The opening of KOCCA’s new headquarters in Spain is aimed at facilitating the entry of high-quality Korean content into the Spanish market. In this sense, the agency will focus on promoting cultural and content exchange between both countries, while bringing the rich and diverse Korean culture to the Spanish public. KOCCA also aims to boost business collaboration programmes in the cultural sectors of both countries, which will generate synergies that will promote joint growth in the global market.

Among the initiatives highlighted, in 2025 it is planned to hold the ‘K-Content Expo’ in Spain, an event designed to show the Spanish and European public the Korean cultural contents and resources. This event will bridge the gap between the partner industries of both countries, as well as generate business opportunities in the corporate sphere.
