Next Saturday, January 25, the musical Los chicos del coro, which is currently playing its second and final season in Madrid at Teatro La Latina, will hold a special performance full of surprises on the occasion of its 500 performances.
On this occasion, the evening performance (17 hours) of the 25th day will feature different special actions and surprises, among which stands out the cast of more than 20 children who will be on stage and perform a song after the encore with a special nod to Madrid.
The performance will close with a few final words to commemorate this significant moment and will be attended by a very special assistant who will accompany the cast and crew of Los chicos del coro, the musical at the celebration, in addition to other surprises for the public.
Los chicos del coro, the musical has already won over 250,000 spectators since its premiere at the Teatro La Latina in Madrid in November 2022, where it remained until June 2023 before embarking on a tour that took him to Bilbao, Valladolid and Valencia. Since October 2024, the Madrid public enjoys once again the magic of this musical in its second and last season in Madrid.
In his farewell from Madrid, the musical has a renewed cast, with Manu Rodríguez playing the iconic professor Clément Mathieu. On stage he is accompanied by Chus Herranz, one of the great performers of musicals in the Spanish scene, playing Violette Morange. In addition, Rafa Castejón repeats as Rachín, the iron director of the Fondo del Estanque boarding school. The rest of the cast is completed by Eva Diago, who for one more season plays Langlois, the math teacher; Iván Clemente, who returns to be Pascal Mondain, and Xisco González as the kind uncle Maxance. Along with all of them, the Choir of Los chicos del coro stands out, formed by more than 20 boys and girls between 7 and 17 years.
The story of this musical, where sensitivity and tenderness meet, is contextualized in the France of 1949, after the Second World War. Poverty and social conflicts became the protagonists of a few years in which many children were orphaned, and that’s where this story starts, in a correctional facility run by the strict Rachin.
