Next Wednesday, January 29 at 12pm, the Instituto Francés de Madrid presents Yellow lemon, a dance piece by iXa for Elephant in the Black Box Junior.

Yellow Lemon is a 30-minute contemporary dance work created by Xián Martínez in 2022 for 21 performers. Premiered in Montreal, the work addresses the climate emergency and was commissioned by EDCM, with music by Fernando Careága and support from various institutions. In 2024, Elephant in the Black Box Junior invites iXa for an extended version with 28 performers, re-releasing in Europe for the first time in Spain.

Xián Martínez, director of iXa, is also a choreographer and freelance dancer with an international career. EBB Junior is a pre-professional dance company that is part of the Elephant in the Black Box (EBB) network. Its main objective is to provide a platform for young dancers from all over the world, helping them to perfect their skills in classical and contemporary dance. The dancers participating in EBB Junior have the opportunity to work with established choreographers and participate in the creation of artistic works. The EBB Junior training is designed to facilitate the transition of young artists into the professional world. To attend the event, you must register at this link.
