The Embassy of the Emirates celebrates World Arabic Language Day 2024

On the occasion of the celebration of World Arabic Language Day, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) organized a conference for a delegation from the Association for the United Nations and International Law at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.

 

The event brought together UAE Ambassador Majid Hassan Mohammed H. Alsuwaidi with students of International Relations interested in discovering the rich cultural heritage, history and international role of the UAE in the international community.

 

During the conference, Ibrahim Alnuaimi, head of the Embassy’s Department of Political Affairs, Media and Public Diplomacy, had an interesting discussion on the cultural and historical legacy of the UAE with students, who were very interested in learning about the UAE’s progressive policies, their contributions to international diplomacy and their efforts to promote global understanding.

 

Alnuaimi highlighted the UAE’s commitment to dialogue and collaboration, underlining its active participation in international organizations and peacebuilding initiatives.

 

In the context of the celebration of World Arabic Language Day, the conference also highlighted the national and international initiatives of the United Arab Emirates to promote the use of the Arabic language, a fundamental pillar of its cultural identity. Key initiatives include the Arab Language Charter, which seeks to strengthen the role of Arabic in education and digital content; the Mohammed bin Rashid Prize for the Arabic Language, which recognizes excellence in preserving and disseminating Arabic; and the UAE Arab Digital Content Initiative, which promotes the presence of Arabic online for future generations.

 

The event concluded with a profound recognition of the essential role of the Arabic language in shaping the UAE’s identity and its continued efforts to share this cultural treasure with the world. The Embassy reiterated the commitment of the United Arab Emirates to promoting intercultural understanding and invited students to collaborate in spreading the values of dialogue and mutual respect.
