The Embassy of Poland held its traditional Christmas Musical Evening last Tuesday, during which ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic delegations and friends of the Embassy once again warmly welcomed Christmas.
Business Manager a.i., Monika Krzepkowska, welcomed the participants. ” We want you to enjoy with us a concert of endearing carols and the taste of traditional dishes of Polish cuisine, in a moment of meeting, peace and reflection, but also of rest.”
“The Polish tradition of Christmas Eve has many particularities, continued Monika Krzepkowska. The dinner begins when the first star appears in the sky, a moment that reminds us of the way of the Magi to Bethlehem. We share the wafer, which represents reconciliation and exchange of good wishes.”
On the table for Christmas Eve dinner in Poland there is no meat, 12 plates are placed, representing the twelve apostles and always one more plate is put if a guest presents himself, “expressing the openness and willingness to share the Christmas warmth with who needs it”, I finalize the Business Manager a.i. of the Polish Embassy.
The Christmas Carol Concert was followed by a performance of Anna Radomska on violin, Joanna Barbara Wielec on piano and the voice of Andrzej Budziszewski, who performed traditional Polish and international Christmas songs.
Finally, the guests were able to taste the typical dishes of Polish cuisine, especially those characteristic of this Christmas period.
The ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Norway, Austria and Serbia were present at the celebration, together with representatives from the delegations of Croatia and Hungary.
