Tomorrow, Thursday at 7 pm, Casa América will organize the event entitled Geopolitics for a new time in its Gabriela Mistral Amphitheater, on the occasion of the presentation of the Spanish edition of the latest book by Robin Niblett: The New Cold War: How the U.S. and China dispute will shape our century. Free admission until capacity is reached.
Will welcome to the event León de la Torre, general director of Casa de América, and will participate Robin Niblett, former director of Chatham House and author of the book; Cristina Gallach, former special commissioner of Alliance for the New Language Economy, and Charles Powell, director of the Real Instituto Elcano. José M. de Areilza, Secretary-General of Aspen Institute Spain and Director of Foreign Policy will moderate.
In the book, which Hillary Clinton said is “enlightening for both the citizen and those engaged in politics”, Robin Niblett goes through the ten particularities of this new Cold War and offers five formulas to navigate its beginning. How this contest is managed will determine the survival of international cooperation, the outcome of the climate emergency and the technological revolution, and of course who will lead the 21st century and what model of government will determine all our futures.
Robin Niblett is a leading expert in international relations. Distinguished Fellow of Chatham House (where he was Executive Director until 2022), Advisor to the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC and a member of the Asia Society Policy Institute. He is also an advisor to Hakluyt, a leading global strategic consulting firm, and regularly advises companies and other organizations on the implications of today’s changing geopolitics.
