In the context of the celebration of the Ecuadorian Gastronomy Day -December 12- and the products of Ecuador, this afternoon the Consulate General of Ecuador in Madrid (calle de Alenza,1, Madrid) will be the stage, until next December 15, of the official presentation of the Ecuadorian Gastronomy Week in Madrid.
Under the motto “Create the movement of Ecuadorian cuisine with Spanish products”, this day seeks to highlight how the Ecuadorian gastronomic tradition can be reinvented and evolve, using quality ingredients from Spain as a basis for new creations.
The Ecuadorian Food Week will include cooking demonstrations and tastings where attendees can explore the most representative flavors of Ecuador. Iconic dishes such as ceviche or encebollado and the traditional recipe are reinterpreted with local Spanish products, such as olive oil, seasonal vegetables or Iberian sausages, creating a gastronomic experience that unites two cultures at the table.
The Association of Ecuadorian Entrepreneurs, Cooks and Hostelers in Spain, under the Raíz Ecuador label, represents a key initiative to promote the culture and gastronomy of Ecuador in Madrid. This seal is not only a hallmark of quality and authenticity, but also a tool for connecting the flavors, traditions and creativity of Ecuador with the public in Madrid and beyond.
Raíz Ecuador acts as a cultural bridge, integrating the gastronomic heritage, the tourist values and the richness of Ecuadorian products in the agenda of Madrid. Through events, collaborations and projects, the association highlights not only traditional dishes and their history, but also the versatility of Ecuadorian cuisine in combination with quality local products. Also, Raíz Ecuador also promotes the development of Ecuadorian entrepreneurs and hoteliers in Spain, creating a solid network of restaurants and businesses that stand out for their culinary excellence and commitment to the dissemination of the Ecuadorian identity. In addition, it contributes to strengthening cultural exchange, bringing Spanish citizens closer to a more complete and authentic experience of what Ecuador means: its gastronomy, its customs and its ability to innovate without losing its roots.
As part of this celebration, today is the debut on the platform Everything Is in Madrid an exclusive route of Ecuadorian restaurants in the city, promoted by the Association of Entrepreneurs, Ecuadorian cooks and hostelers from Spain under the project Root Ecuador together with the Trade and Entrepreneurship Directorate of the City Council of Madrid and supported by the Embassy of Ecuador. This new resource will allow Madrileños and visitors to discover the best places to enjoy Ecuadorian cuisine in Madrid, from traditional local to more contemporary proposals.
