Next Saturday, December 14 at 19.30, the Fundación Excelentia presents in the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid the Concert of Aranjuez, by the maestro Joaquín Rodrigo.
Two days after the outbreak of World War II, Joaquín Rodrigo and his wife cross the Spanish border. Hardly without luggage, they brought with them the manuscript in braille of the Concert of Aranjuez, composed in Paris, at Rue Saint-Jacques no 156, in 1939.
In 2024 the 85th anniversary of the composition of this famous and beautiful piece of classical music will be performed by the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra, under the direction of conductor José Luis López Antón and virtuoso guitarist Alejandro Hurtado. The concert will be accompanied by Beethoven’s Symphony no2 and other masterpieces by Arriaga, Tárrega and Bacarisse.
