The prestigious company Elephant in the Black Box arrives at the Instituto Francés de Madrid on 12 and 13 December at 8 pm with its contemporary dance work Quijotes en Nueva York.
Jean Philippe Dury reinvents the timeless myth of the knight in waiting in a daring and poetic contemporary reinterpretation of Cervantes’ famous character. In a setting transformed into a pixelated and virtual reality universe, five artists embody the different facets of this legendary hero, each reflecting a part of his idealism, madness, courage and relentless search for meaning.
With renowned cellist Iris Azquinezer, who creates an original and immersive soundtrack in 4D, this creation immerses the audience in an unprecedented sensory experience, where each note and movement generate a fascinating illusion. The artists blur the boundaries between contemporary dance and breakdance to offer a striking choreographic language, where audacity and vulnerability collide in a vision of complete freedom.
