Fundación Casa de Mexico presents the next Wednesday, December 4 at 7 pm in its Hall of Multiple Uses the jazz concert Sabor a México, with the Julia Vari Quintet.

Led by singer, pianist and arranger Julia Vari (pictured), the quintet is composed of Lucía Rey (piano), Reiner “El Negrón” (bass), Georvis Pico Milian (drums) and X (guitar).

Known for her improvisational ability and her very particular style of blending jazz with Mexican and Latin American melodies and rhythms, Julia Vari’s repertoire is a reflection of the diversity and musical richness of our times. Julia will delight with songs from the album she recorded with Armando Manzanero (Adoro, 2015), as well as some new tracks.

In this show every note is a tribute to the beauty of our roots, inviting everyone to feel the joy, nostalgia and pride of Mexican culture.

Voy a apagar la luz, Sabor a mí, Siboney, Amanecí en tus brazos, Contigo aprendí, Como yo te amé, La media vuelta, Cielo rojo, El reloj or Se me olvidó otra vez are unforgettable songs that will star the evening.

Recognized by the press as “The Queen of Mexican Jazz”, Julia Vari is synonymous with talent, energy, originality and delivery, For more than a decade, he has charmed the public with his original musical arrangements and his fusion of jazz with world music and Latin rhythms. Among his achievements, Vari can boast not only an expressive voice and a subtle but elegant style of piano, but also five solo albums and a nomination to Hollywood Music in Media, as well as performances in iconic venues, Among those that stand out are the Lunario of the National Auditorium in Mexico City, the Real Teatro Carlos Aranjuez in Spain and the Centro Nacional de las Artes in Ottawa.
