The President of the Government received this Monday at the Moncloa Palace the President of the Permanent Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Zhao Leji, to whom he conveyed Spain’s commitment to “dialogue and collaboration within the multilateral system” to face “the great global challenges that threaten international peace and stability”.
During the meeting, which took place within the framework of Zhao’s visit to Spain, both spoke about “the good moment that bilateral relations between Spain and China are going through, boosted by the recent visit of the President of the Government to the country in September of this year”, according to Moncloa in a press release.
They also reviewed the most relevant issues of international current affairs, “thus giving continuity to the major multilateral events held recently”, such as the G-20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, which have taken place “in a complex geopolitical context”.
In this regard, the President of the Government conveyed to him “Spain’s willingness to achieve the best possible relations between the EU and China, as well as its commitment to dialogue and collaboration within the multilateral system to face the major global challenges that threaten international peace and stability.” According to Moncloa, “Spain’s consistent and constructive attitude on the international stage is appreciated by China.”
