As part of the initiative: 2024 Year of Andalusian Art, tomorrow at 7 pm, the Círculo Intercultural Hispano Árabe (CIHAR) is organizing a conference and colloquium on Andalusian archaeology and art in the Ambassadors’ Hall of Casa Árabe in Madrid, The second Alhama de Tulaytula: the mosque of the Salvador, by Julián García Sánchez de Pedro.
Graduated in Geography and History from the Complutense University of Madrid, Julián García Sánchez de Pedro has developed his professional life as an archaeologist in Toledo, where, in his 32 years of experience, has participated in countless excavations of land and buildings throughout the city; including the restoration of the tower of the church of San Román, the rehabilitation of the church of San Vicente, the excavations of the church of El Salvador, works in the surroundings of the Vega Baja or excavations carried out in 2011 in Calle de la Plata, where the Roman robe was found that is on display in the courtyard of Covarrubias and whose result can be seen in the Museum of Santa Cruz. She combines her passion for fieldwork with teaching, having taught classes in the Saramago 50Plus Program at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Passionate about the Toledo heritage, both Roman and Islamic, he has published numerous articles and participated in different congresses and conferences on the subject.
