This afternoon at 8 pm, the Instituto Francés de Madrid presents the 29th edition of the LesGaicineMad 2024 Festival with the screening of the film directed and written in 2023 by Claire Burger, Foreign Language. Registration at this link.
LesGaiCineMad is the most important LGBTIAQ+ international film festival in Spanish-speaking countries, both in terms of audience and reach, as well as in terms of number of films.
For its 29th edition, the Instituto Francés will screen three films in the official selection, starting with Foreign Language, which tells of Fanny, a 17-year-old French schoolgirl, travelling to Germany on a language exchange. In Leipzig, she meets her friend Lena, who is the same age as her and wants to become a political activist. To impress Lena, Fanny, who is rather shy and withdrawn, invents a different life, but soon finds herself caught in his lies.
