This week, the Spain-China Council Foundation is celebrating the 15th edition of its Future Chinese Leaders visitor programme, which this year will focus on artificial intelligence. This is the second time that the programme has been dedicated to this theme.
Since it was launched in 2006, the programme has created a community of more than one hundred Chinese professionals linked to our country through professional stays that include visits, round tables and networking events, as highlighted by the Council Foundation in a press release.
The participants in the programme are Fu Hongyu, who heads the AI Governance Centre and the Data Economy Centre of the Alibaba Research Institute (AliResearch) and is the co-author of the draft Artificial Intelligence Law of China; Monica Xie, venture capital investor at ZhenFund, one of the most important funds in China, where she focuses on AI, SaaS and robotics; Enoch Tang, co-founder of ZC Digitals, a technology company known for guiding companies in their digital transformation; Wang Guanchun (Arvid Wang), founder and CEO of the artificial intelligence company Laiye; and Jia Kai, associate professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Shanghai Jiaotong University, where he has contributed to several national AI ethics norms and standards in China.
The program, which began on Monday and continues on Friday, runs over five days in Madrid and Barcelona, where participants will meet with public administrations, companies and research centers linked to artificial intelligence and digital policies. In Madrid, the program includes visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Elcano Royal Institute, the Cervantes Institute, the State Secretariat for Artificial Intelligence, The Cube, the UPM Research Center in AI, BBVA and Indra. In Barcelona, the delegation will meet with The Collider, Tech Barcelona, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and the CSIC Artificial Intelligence Research Institute.
