Tomorrow Wednesday at 7 pm, Casa de Mexico in Spain (calle Alberto Aguilera, 20) presents the latest book by Amaranta Osorio, La trilogía del recuerdo (The Trilogy of Memory), a compilation of three theatrical texts on the memory of violence.
The book will be presented in a conversation between its author and Mexican novelist Jorge Volpi. The actress Ana Fernández will read in the presentation act some fragments of the works.
La trilogía del recuerdo brings together three plays by an author who has a strong link with Mexico, two for adults and the third for family audiences, which investigate the memory of violence: the silent memory, the memory in the body, the historical memory, the memory of ancestors and the memory of violence against animals and nature.
For the author, without memory you can’t build a new society, without the memory of what we did wrong you can’t move forward. In the face of violence around us, humans can always do something, even a small thing, to transform the world. In all his works, Amaranta Osorio speaks of hope, and how in the painful there is a glimpse of goodness. This book is presented on the 13th of November, the day when the World Day of Goodness is commemorated.
