On the occasion of the International Day of Music and to commemorate this date, Casa Asia (calle Mayor, 69) organizes next Thursday at 19 hours a small recital of Korean songs, with the singer Eun Ae Lee and the musician David Alegre, members of the group Leesarang. Registration at this link.
Leesarang will perform a repertoire of folk songs from north and south Korea with traditional Korean singing voice accompanied by viola, piano, gayageum and janggu. A journey through five centuries of Korean musical tradition; from the 16th century palace music to the most current musical styles in Korea, including the famous “trot” of the first half of the last century.
Eun Ae Lee, singer and percussionist, holds a diploma in Traditional Art and Music Studies (2001, Korea) and a master’s degree in Advanced Music Therapy and Applications (2022, UAM). Has a wide-ranging background in the field of Korean traditional music, beginning with the Ministry of Education’s Kangwondo Bronze Medal in 1997 for traditional vocal music. In 2012 he founded the group Leesarang which he has been conducting since then in concerts and various events throughout Europe and South Korea.
David Alegre, Viola with Honorable Mention (RCSMM), Baroque Violin (RCSMM) and Singing (Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid). He participates in several professional orchestras and chamber groups and is a viola teacher at the CIEM Federico Moreno Torroba of Madrid and teaches singing classes at the school Acción Escena.
