The cellist Woongwhee Moon and pianist Daniel Delgado are the members of the Korean-Spanish duo that tomorrow Tuesday at 19 hours will intervene in the auditorium of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (calle de Alcalá, 13) to close the seventh edition of the Korea 2024 Classical Music Cycle, organized by the Centro Cultural Coreano in collaboration with the Real Academia.

The concert will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.

This performance will mark the first performance of the duo, which was formed in Germany and shares a unique musical vision. The concert program will include works by Falla, Shostakovich and Brahms, starting with the Popular Spanish Suite by Manuel de Falla, a prominent scholar of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes San Fernando; the Sonata for cello and piano in D minor, Op. 40, by Shostakovich, and the Sonata for cello and piano in E minor No 1, Op. 38, by Brahms.

Woongwhee Moon is recognized as one of the most outstanding Korean cellists of his generation. The performer has studied at the National University of Arts in Korea, Hamburg, Dresden and the Munich University of Arts and Music. In addition to being one of the founding members of the “Novus String Quartet”, he has been awarded as a soloist at the International Competition of Stuttgart and has been recognized as a chamber musician at the ARD International Competition and the International Mozart Competition, in which he won second and first prize respectively.

Daniel Delgado was trained at the Conservatory of Music of Castilla y León with Patrín García-Barredo, completing his studies with István Gulyás and András Kemenes at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. Based in Würzburg (Germany), he combines teaching and concert work, regularly collaborating with the philharmonic orchestras of Würzburg and Hof as soloist, performing opera projects and chamber music concerts with some of its members. His musical spectrum is extended as an instrumental, singing or ballet accompanying pianist, participating in addition to theater projects and events of electronic music, jazz, etc.

This concert is part of the Korea Classical Music Cycle, a program established in 2018 by the Korean Cultural Center in Spain with the aim of making Korean performers known in Europe through concerts in Spain, enriching each edition.
