Albares gives instructions to Embassies to assist relatives of victims of the DANA

Eduardo González The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, has sent a telegram to the Embassies and Consulates with instructions to assist relatives of those who died and disappeared due to the DANA. On the other hand, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has made its reserve of humanitarian material available to the Generalitat Valenciana to deal with the emergency in Valencia. In the telegram, Albares indicates that, “in the event that relatives or other close people of deceased and/or missing persons in the floods that occurred in recent days contact the Embassy or Consulate General, I ask that you provide them with all possible support and assistance and inform the Consular Emergency Division, especially in the event that they require support to locate their missing relatives or loved ones.” “Likewise, all celebrations and all social and festive events that are planned must be suspended or postponed until at least the end of next week,” the text continues. “Please send a copy of this telegram to the existing Consulates General, if applicable, in your area,” the telegram concludes. Furthermore, the AECID has made its reserve of humanitarian material available to the Generalitat Valenciana, including water purifiers, portable latrines and kitchen, tool and hygiene kits, to help the victims of the DANA. “From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the AECID, we are making humanitarian material available to deal with the emergency in Valencia,” said José Manuel Albares through the social network X. “All solidarity with the victims, those affected and their families by the DANA in the Valencian Community,” he concluded.
