The Centro Cultural Paco Rabal (calle de Felipe de Diego, 13) is the stage chosen by the Embassy of Colombia to invite next November 6 to a workshop of Colombian ethnic music (17 hours) and the concert of La Jagua, a musical journey from Colombia to the world (19 hours). Free admission until capacity is full.
The workshop is limited to 40 participants. The invitations will be collected at the box office on the same day from 16 h. (maximum 2 invitations per person). As for the concert, invitations can be obtained by GIGLON or directly at the box office on the day of the performance from 18 h.
The workshop will be held in seminar and/or workshop format, training with the methodology of “Drum Wheel”, which allows a dialogue from our music and traditions, as well as a playful participation of the public focused on songs, chonta marimba and percussion from the Colombian Pacific, as well as a context of cultural and sound diversity in our country.
The concert will be a proposal of Colombian music that is nourished by the encounter between traditional music with modern and universal musical elements; showing an innovative musical journey that represents the diversity of new sounds of music in Colombia, Proposing a versatile, impactful and solid staging, with its own concept that makes this group particularly exceptional.
La Jagua is the winner in the free category of the Festival de Músicas del Pacífico Petronio Álvarez 2022 and 2015 respectively; Winners of the call. ” Create sounds” by the master Yuri Buenaventura, sponsored by Grupo Bancolombia and Ecopetrol, this call was recorded with producer Santiago Prieto, director and singer of the renowned Colombian band Monsieur Periné.
