Teatro Fernán Gómez presents the International Festival Jazzmadrid 2024
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

From 6 to 24 November, jazz returns to the program of the Teatro Fernán Gómez. Centro Cultural de la Villa in autumn with the International Festival Jazzmadrid 2024.

An entire city at the service of jazz, through a packed battery of concerts that reveal a palmaria truth: no other popular music among jazz has so many excellent aesthetic fraternities.

Jazz is, as we all know, the style that has best known to coax and embrace the popular music of any place in the world. So nothing better than starting with the programming part dedicated to local production. In this section will be the most recent reconstitution of the trio of the pianist Chano Domínguez; there will be the groups of the guitarist Josemi Carmona and the saxophonist and cantaor Antonio Lizana; Moisés Sánchez will also offer a solo piano concert, and, among many other proposals, will also attend the harmonicist Antonio Serrano and the pianist Daniel Oyarzábal, adapting to jazz some works of the maestro Johann Sebastian Bach. And, outside the theater, a street band, in marching band format, will liven up with musical repertoire of New Orleans the first day of programming of the Teatro Fernán Gómez. Centro Cultural de la Villa.

Artists established in the rest of the world, especially in the original homeland of jazz, the United States, will also be present, and therefore the theater will receive a vocal jazz diva like Dee Dee Bridgewater, but also younger successors of her style, as Lady Blackbird and Lakecia Benjamin. It will also receive saxophonists of the throne of Joe Lovano; a conductor as highly regarded as Maria Schneider; the Brazilian singer and pianist Eliane Elias, and among many other proposals to the Cuban saxophonist Paquito D’Rivera, who will star with various friends the closing of the festival.

All concerts at 20 hours and in the Guirau room, except Barba Dixie Band that will be at 18 hours in parades from Centro Centro to Teatro Fernán Gómez. Centro Cultural de la Villa. All information can be found on the website of the Festival.
