The Spanish Court of Auditors has assumed the annual presidency of the Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the EU, which includes their equivalents in the 27 EU Member States.
The transfer of the presidency took place on 17 October from the SAI of Cyprus, on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU in the Cypriot town of Paphos.
At this year’s meeting, according to the Court of Auditors in a press release, the Committee’s work has focused on the current situation of migration within the EU and on the difficulties and opportunities that it represents for the different governments of the Member States.
From the audit and control perspective, the Committee has addressed “how EU Audit Institutions can contribute to improving public management in relation to this highly topical issue”. In addition, EU SAIs have shared different experiences on immigration audits that are being carried out in different countries.
