Last Friday saw the premiere of the comedy El club de los milagros (The Miracle Club), directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan and starring two-time Oscar winner Maggie Smith (recently deceased), Oscar winner Kathy Bates and Golden Globe winner Laura Linney.
A group of housewives on the verge of a nervous breakdown win a trip to Lourdes with all expenses paid. Without thinking twice, they accept the prize and leave in search of a mystical experience that changes their lives. In the meantime, their husbands will have to take charge of the household.
Each of the hikers will seek in this journey to the Marian shrine a meaning to their life, which will not always culminate in the desired goal, but that will give a return to their life. This film is a unique opportunity to know what lies behind the visits in search of healing of the soul and body.
