The Diplomat
In the futuristic framework of the 2024 International Astronautical Congress, at MiCo in Milan, a bilateral protocol for cooperation in peaceful space activities was signed last Thursday between the Italian space agency, ASI, and the Spanish space agency, AEE, based on initiatives of the Italian Embassy and the ICE Agency.
The agreement provides for collaboration in some of the most strategic sectors of the aerospace sector, such as earth observation for environmental monitoring, sustainability of satellite navigation and the renewed impetus to space exploration, even with human crew.
As an immediate operational follow-up to the agreement, a inaugural event will be held in Spain at the beginning of 2025, involving Italian and Spanish companies from the core sectors of the protocol.
