The US Embassy in Madrid, scene of an emergency drill

The Diplomat The US Embassy in Madrid, located on the central Serrano street, was this Thursday the scene of an emergency drill in which US Marines participated, along with members of the National Police and the Special Operations Group (GEO). According to the US diplomatic representation, it is a routine exercise that has been prepared for months and its objective was to evaluate and improve the capacity to respond to emergency situations and reaffirm the solid cooperation in matters of security between Spain and the United States. Around fifty people from the different corps participated in the drill, including some Marines deployed to Madrid from the Rota naval base. The Embassy stressed that the drill is essential to guarantee preparation for possible threats and improve coordination between the different security forces of both countries, in addition to allowing the security teams to practice their response protocols
