The Diplomat
His Majesty the King has sent a congratulatory message to The Diplomat in Spain, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of our publication.
In his message sent to our director, Luis Ayllón, along with a photograph, Don Felipe says: “I greet with my affection and my cordial congratulations all those who have made it possible for The Diplomat in Spain to celebrate ten years of work in foreign policy.”
Those of us who have been working since 2014 to bring our subscribers all the information that we consider may be of interest to them, feel very grateful for this affectionate congratulations from the head of State, which we consider as an incentive to continue maintaining our work with the same enthusiasm and effort as the first day we began what was then an adventure and today is a reality.
We would also like to thank His Holiness’s Nuncio in Spain, Monsignor Bernardito Auza, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in our country, for sending us a greeting of congratulations and encouragement on the occasion of this first decade of The Diplomat in Spain.
In his text, the Nuncio states, with words that have filled us with satisfaction: “On the occasion of the two-decade anniversary of the helpful initiative of the journalists Luis Ayllón, Alberto Rubio and Antonio Rodríguez, renowned for their speciality in international information, I very gladly welcome the opportunity, offered in my capacity as Dean of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in the Kingdom of Spain, to congratulate the management team and to greet the readers of The Diplomat in Spain in this edition.
Ten years have now passed, and we hope there will be many more, in which, with dedication, presided by a desire to help, this newspaper, with the immediacy and speed of the digital medium, highlights notable information, appreciated both for its journalistic writing style and for the respect for its own ethics, which provide us with interesting aspects of this noble Country and other practical information.
Among the recognized notes of this digital newspaper, it is worth highlighting, and particularly on this occasion, the attention paid by its expert collaborators to reports that illustrate facts that affect the view of the specific values of our Mission, which is not limited to the ethics of legitimate interest in the good of our nations, but which, in the context of a more global world, also touch and affect the conscience of multilateral diplomacy.
This means co-responsibility and assistance in the concert between nations in favour of a permanent activity that yearns for and promotes an effective diplomacy for universal peace, the development of peoples, respect for human rights, the rights of workers, life and family, women, the safeguarding of our common home, the planet, and the implementation of humanitarian law.
The Diplomat in Spain also has the cherished objective of bringing the Embassies closer to Spanish society. The Diplomatic Corps accredited in the Kingdom of Spain appreciates this effort with me.
Ad multos annos!”
