The zarzuela, protagonist of the ‘Spanish Gala’ of the Fundación Excelentia

The Fundación Excelentia presents next 12 October (Hispanic Day) at 19.30 in the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Spanish Gala, with the best zarzuelas ever as protagonists.

 

The Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra, conducted by José Luis López Antón, together with soprano Ruth Terán and tenor Miguel Borrallo, will perform such well-known pieces as the ‘Preludio’ of El Tambor de Granaderos of R. Chapí; ‘From this peaceful corner of Madrid’, ‘Cállate, Corazón’ and ‘Caballero del alto plumero’ by Luisa Fernanda, of F. Moreno-Torroba; ‘En un país de fábula’ by La Tabernera del Puerto, of P. Sorozábal; ‘Bella enamorada’ by El último romántico, of R.  Soutullo y J. Vert; ‘Canción de Paloma’ by El Barberillo de Lavapiés, of F. A. Barbieri, ‘Fandango’, ‘Era una rosa que en un jardín’ and ‘Por el humo se sabe’, of Doña Francisquita, of A. Vives; ‘De España vengo’ of El Niño Judío, of P. Luna; ‘No puede ser’ of La Tabernera del Puerto, of P. Sorozábal, or ‘Torero quiero ser’ of El Gato Montés, of M. Penella.
