The Fundación Alternativas presents in virtual mode next Thursday, October 10 at 13 hours the process A global digital pact for a multipolar world.
Three paradigms are currently competing. The US proposal, which advocates the primacy of the market as a source of innovation, prosperity and political freedom; the Chinese proposal, which advocates the primacy of the state as the guarantor of social harmony; and the European proposal, which advocates the primacy of values; Rights and the welfare state.
To this very complex geopolitical scenario is added the uncertainty of new technological disruptions in progress, such as the new generation of semiconductors, the relocation of clouds and, above all, the impressive development of artificial intelligence.
Therefore, in this new session of the cycle of the social function of the enterprise, it will be analyzed the process of elaboration of the UN Global Digital Pact in the new technological, regulatory and geopolitical environment in which the global digital ecosystem develops.
A debate will be held between Antonio Pérez-Hernández Durán, counsellor for Digital, AI, and Public Affairs Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations, and Jorge Pérez Martínez, Professor Emeritus of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and coordinator of the Internet Governance Forum in Spain, which will be moderated by Francisco Ros, former Secretary of State for telecommunications and promoter of the project The social function of business.
