Casa Asia de Madrid (calle Mayor, 69) presents this afternoon at 7 pm the round table and the book entitled Introduction to China Today. Where China is going and why we care.

China is so relevant today that it is impossible to understand our time without managing some key factors about this country, such as its impact on major macroeconomic trends, global geopolitics, technological innovation or climate change. However, the image we receive of China remains superficial, stereotyped and often ideologically biased.

This book, written by two academics who have been in joint research and direct contact with China for more than three decades, explains in a rigorous, amusing and concise way its main cultural keys, economic, political and social for those who want to understand this global player and how it affects their lives.

Professors Mario Esteban Rodríguez and Rafael Martín Rodríguez, specialists in Chinese studies, offer a rigorous, amusing and concise approach to one of the most influential countries of our era. An analysis away from stereotypes and political bias that presents the keys to understanding China and its impact on major macroeconomic trends, global geopolitics and climate change. This book will be of interest to those who want to know more about this global actor and how it influences their lives.

At the event, will be a welcome words Emilio de Miguel, director of the Centro Casa Asia-Madrid, present the same Charles Powell, director of the Real Instituto Elcano. Taciana Fisac, Professor of East Asian Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid will comment on the round table, which will then include the authors of the book, Mario Esteban, University Professor and Director of the Centre for East Asian Studies at the Autonomous University of Madrid, in addition to being a principal researcher (Asia-Pacific) at the Real Instituto Elcano, and Rafael Martín, PhD in Contemporary History, Doctor of Methodology and Didactics, foreign policy specialist, professor at the University of Fudan (Shanghai), and guest professor of Oriental Studies at the University of Granada.
