Fundación Casa de Mexico in Spain presents this afternoon at 7.30 pm the Dantor group, which links jazz with Mexican and world music to offer unique and emotional sound experiences.
Characterised by passion, research and experimentation, Dantor makes a stop in Madrid as part of his 2024 European Tour, which will take them to various cities in Spain (Barcelona, Santander, Seville, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela and Gijón), Portugal (Lisbon) and Morocco (Tangier).
Created by the composer and guitarist Daniel Torres, Dantor is a Mexican jazz group founded in 2014 with the aim of sharing the compositions that he began to make since 2009, during his years of study and sound exploration in South America.
Currently Dantor has two studio albums: Sinestesia (2019), where they fuse atmospheres, rhythms, harmonies and jazz improvisations with Latin American rhythms, and Olas altas (2022), inspired by the beaches of Sinaloa, the emotional ups and downs produced by the uncertainty of the pandemic during confinement and the need to escape from the impossibility of going out into the world. In addition, the group is currently preparing its third album: Ramé, composed of eight works that reflect the own compositional label and the musical strength of the project.
Dantor is composed of Daniel Torres (guitar and vocals), Isra Torres (violin), Aaron Cruz (bass), Hiram Gris (drums) and Daniel Vadillo (piano and synthesizer), who use inspiration, technique and technology to create musical postcards with unmatched texture.
