The Teatro de la Abadía (Avenida Fernández de los Ríos, 42) presents from tomorrow until next 13 October its first premiere of the season, Hysteria, by Carla Nyman, an intimate, raw, surreal performance at times, full of sarcasm and irony.
In this work, starring two young performers: Lluna Issa Casterà and Mariano Estudillo, Carla Nyman writes and directs a text that speaks of “all those who seek an alternative to the imposed logic”, in her own words, “and also of desire, dissatisfaction and systemic violence”. A very personal proposal, where the physical and the sound are combined to make “an allegory of the human condition and its evils in the 21st century”.
Hysteria tells how Agustina goes to a doctor’s office for a long time suffering from pain inside. Dr. Doctor, committed to make his clinical diagnosis, will be absorbed by the patient’s body. It will be there, inside the organism of Agustina, where a whole cosmogony of events and long-repressed misfortunes opens up. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
