This afternoon at 7.30 pm, the Fundación Casa de México in Spain presents in its auditorium the book La joya robada (The Stolen Jewel), by Elik G. Troconis.
Elik G. Troconis offers a novel that takes the Cervantinos characters and creates with them an amusing detective novel in which the ingenious don Quixote of La Mancha must investigate the theft of the most precious jewel of one of the characters and restore order inside the inn.
Winner of the Fenal-Norma National Literature Prize (Mexico), La joya robada recovers the classic Cervantino, but now in the form of a detective novel in which the Knight of the Sad Figure turns into a mad Sherlock Holmes.
The author of the work and Alfonso Mateo-Sagasta, historian and writer, will participate in the presentation.
Elik G. Troconis (Mexico City, 1995) is a historian from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM and master in creative writing from the Complutense University of Madrid. Second prize of the National Poetry Contest ‘Juan Cervera’ 2024 (Spain) for his poem “Con tiempo”.
Has published fiction, essays, poetry and theatre criticism in national and international magazines and anthologies. He has also worked as a communicator of arts and humanities in the roles of author, editor and conductor in print, electronic, radio and television media, among which TV UNAM stands out. In 2019, she received the scholarship of the training program for young writers of the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas.
